This week has absolutely flown by. It funny, because this is probably the only time I haven’t wanted Friday to get here.
Today is Lexie’s surgery. In just a few hours I’ll be dropping her off at the vet, and proceeding to spend the rest of the day hovering over my phone until I hear that I can come back and pick her up.
The past week has been a bit of a blur, but I do feel like I’ve learned some things.
First, and most importantly, I am surrounded by some pretty amazing people. The support I’ve gotten has meant so much to me, and I can’t say thank you enough. I am so lucky to have the people I have in my life. Between you guys, and a few pretty fantastic friends, I don’t feel like I’m dealing with all this alone.
I’ve also learned that I’m capable of getting my shit together fast when I need to. I found out Lexie would need surgery on Friday night, and by Saturday I had a plan. The plan included eating little more than cabbage and lentils for awhile, but it was a plan, and it was going to work.
I’ve managed to get things sorted a little bit better than that now. It’s going to be pretty tight around here for awhile, but I’ll make it. I’ve had to sell some of my stuff on Craigslist to help out, but Lexie comes before stuff any day.
Speaking of which, selling stuff on Craigslist is a giant pain in the ass. I’ve gotten so many ridiculous emails from so many ridiculous people. I’m being incredibly rude and just ignoring most of them because seriously, it’s crazy what people expect you to go through just so they can buy your shit for cheap.
On the plus side, when you’re meeting random strangers from Craigslist, there’s really no reason not to meet them dressed like this.
It’s hot out. After my workout I put on my pajamas, end of story. If you want my cheap stuff, you’ll just have to deal with it. ![]()

Yeah, the craigslist thing kind of sucks. People are all like, “so I’ll buy this couch from you for $10, but you have to deliver it” and I responded “the offer is $30 and you have to provide the transportation because it will not fit in my car. thanks.”
Idiots.
Good luck to Lexie! And I’m sure she’ll be happy to see you when you go to pick her up!
Hang in there girl, Lexie is a trooper!
I will be thinking of you and your girl today! <3
I can’t imagine how anxious and stressed you are with all of this going on. I’ll be thinking of you and Lexie and sending warm thoughts and prayers your way!!!
As for Craigslist, I once tried to sell a couch and received more pornographic pictures and sexual invitations than actual offers to buy the couch. Beyond bizarre. Beyond.
Will be thinking of Lexie today! Keep us updated!
I hope we get to hear some of your Craiglist stories after she is home and healing.
Maybe set up a donation page so we can send you some $$?
sending awesome vibes to Lexie, wishing her a quick recovery <3

Hey Leah! I got a new blog (this is The Hungry Scholar). FYI.
Craigslist still scares the crap out of me since the Lifetime movie. I need to stop watching those films because they make me extremely paranoid.
Cute pjs!
I hope that Lexie is doing better! And so sorry about the whole situation Leah. Thinking of you!
