The New Schedule

After a one week break, I’m back at school again.

I have to admit, I’ve been pretty excited about this semester. I’ve got some great classes, and I’m just so excited about them. That said, I was a bit worried that the new schedule would throw me off. For the past year, my schedule has been pretty much the same. I’ve had classes Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – two at night, and one from 4-7. It worked like that every semester, and wasn’t even on purpose, it just kind of happened. I had it down to an art form, and knew exactly how to manage my time. The fact that this semester is different is a bit of a shock for my change hating self.

But as it turns out, change can be good.

First, I don’t have a class on Monday anymore, which means I don’t have to spend Sundays prepping food for the week. That on it’s own is pretty much amazing.

But it gets better – I have two 4-7 classes and only one late night class. I wasn’t excited about that idea at first because I always, always, always have trouble staying awake during that time slot. After a full work day, sitting in a classroom for 3 more hours is hard and I wasn’t looking forward to doing it twice a week. But on the same note, now I’ll be able to get some sleep. And I can come home and make dinner instead of having to have it ready ahead of time.

It also means I have all that time freed up to do homework during the week if I want to go out on the weekends and have a life. Or you know, lay on the couch with a glass of wine.

I am a bit sad that my night class falls on Thursday because it means I’m going to miss out on the best tv night of the week, but I’ll get over it. The wine will probably help with that.
