Taking a day off in the middle of the week was the best idea ever. This week flew by, and for the first time in ages, I can’t believe it’s Friday already.
In preparation for my low key weekend, last night I had the perfect low key evening. I really needed one of those.
After work, I ran a surprisingly awesome 8k in the sunshine. I felt like I looked really good all day yesterday, and I genuinely think that helped. I always run better when I feel like I look hot.
After my run, I had a nice long walk with Lexie.
And by long walk, I mean we walked 3 kms but it took 45 minutes.
Since that seems like an awful lot of exercise, I figured it was only logical to spend the rest of the night in my pajamas, on the couch, with a glass of wine, and a dog in my lap.
It was about as perfect as it gets. Except, now I’m out of wine. I should probably start buying it by the box again.

I really need to start doing the mid-week day off thing. I always use them for long weekends, but I think a little break mid-week would be kind of amazing.
I am taking a mental health half of an afternoon. It’s my last day of work and I’m definitely in need of some time to chill…or workout. When I walk with Lily, we never go far, but it takes FOREVER. She acts like a male dog and tries to “mark” everything. Thank God she hasn’t resorted to lifting a leg…
Lexie DOES lift her leg. She likes to pee on weird things, and if she can’t just back up over them, she has no issues getting all many about it. But my dog is ridiculous so . . .
Looking hot really does make a day great. But then I usually back out of a workout so I don’t ruin a good hair day. I need some of your dedication.
I almost skipped the run because my hair looked really good. But no one else was going to see it, so I talked myself into going anyway.
I’m out of wine, too
well, white wine at least – which is the only wine that matters in the summer!
Funny, when I take a day off in the middle of the week the week goes SO slowly. Not sure why?
Hope you have a great Sunday Leah!
PS: I love the hair comment above. I’ve been there!
There is nothing better than a low key weekend…I love them! I, too, often think that I need to buy wine from a box…I’m hoping that would make it stay around my house longer!
Lexie is adorable as ever!
