I am currently staying at my parents house, and look who’s with me.
I figured it was best to just keep her here since I have those evil beagles next door. That, and shes not supposed to climb any stairs. I live in a basement suite, so that would be impossible. So until Lexie is feeling well enough, we will be staying with my parents.
Thank you for all the well wishes yesterday, her surgery went great. The vet found a fourth lump, which he took out. He also removed the skin tag from her eye, and did some “manual” teeth cleaning. The lab results on the lumps will be back in 3 – 5 days, so I wont know much more until then. Apparently she was a total trooper, and he was impressed by how tough she is. And how sweet.
I think all the stress of this surgery finally got to me. On Wednesday night I started to feel really sick. And by sick, I mean sore throat, chills, and a fever. Last night I felt pretty much the same, so this is how I spent the night.
It was quite sweet.
I actually slept on the floor all night with her last night. Not my best idea ever. And in case anyone is wondering, I did wake up for the Royal Wedding. Naturally. Since I’m feeling sick, I decided not to set my alarm, but I woke up at exactly 3:01, so I figured it was meant to be. Very glad I did. It was definitely a different syle of ceremony, but I thought Kate’s dress was incredible.
Did you watch The Royal Wedding?

I’m glad that Lexie is doing well! Good luck with everything with her. I’m sure she appreciates everything that you are doing for her. I love that picture of you and her laying next to each other. So sweet!
You should frame that picture.
I did watch the Royal Wedding! I thought Kate looked absolutely stunning! What a beautiful bride!
I’m so glad she did well
You curled up there with Lexie is how I spend every night with Lily. She’s so rotten
Get her well soon!!!
that is great news that she did so well!! aww, a mama’s love spending all night with her on the floor! she sure is super lucky to have you!
unfortunately, I didn’t watch the wedding. I wanted to dvr it but I totally forgot!
Oh good!!! I was thinking about you two all day yesteday!!
Yay! So glad Lexi is okay
Like the others have said – glad to hear that everything went well and Lexie is getting along just fine!
I guess it shouldn’t be too surprising that an owner that is dedicated enough to somehow obtain their dog’s urine is also dedicated enough to sleep on the floor alongside their pet, too.
How sweet of you – even if it does take a toll on you when you need to be resting and healing too!
I was up at 3a.m. this morning, too – for no reason. I didn’t know about the Royal Wedding and haven’t been keeping up with it anyway so I suppose I didn’t really care to begin with. Nope, obviously didn’t watch it. XD
I saw a little bit of the wedding on my way out the door for work – just Kate entering the church. Thought she looked beautiful!
I love the picture of you and Lexie on the floor- what a good mother to sleep right next to her!
I’m glad everything went well!
And you know I did. My only sadness came when my shower coincided with the vows. What the hell? It’s like the most important part… after the dress of course…
So glad she made it through okay! Feel better – both of you!!
I’m so very glad she made it through w/ flying colors.
Feel better, honey!
Glad she made it through surgery!
I hope the lab results are great and that she doesn’t have to wear the cone very long!
I love that you chose to spend the money to save your dog. I couldn’t afford to save my poor kitty a few years back and it was absolutely heart wrenching. She saved me the tough decision of deciding whether or not to put her down by wandering away one day. Pets are wonderful, they’re family, and I hope your pup recovers soon and everything is okay
Aw, I hope your dog feels better soon! Poor thing
I’m so glad that she is doing well and I hope she is well enough for you to get to go home soon!
I hope you both feel better soon!
I’m so glad Lexie is home and I hope she’s doing better ASAP.
I didn’t watch the Royal Wedding…I watched a 5 minute recap on cnn.com. I LOVE the Internet!
And I just received the book I won in your giveaway…thank you again! I can’t wait to read it. I’ll let you know what I think when I’m done!
I’m so glad Lexie is doing well after her surgery. I know it’s a futile suggestion – but try not to stress about the results. She’s a strong girl and she is fine.
Hope YOU feel better soon!
I’m happy to hear Lexie surgery went well! I didn’t see any of the Royal Wedding. The company I work for is British-based and the sites in the UK all had off for the wedding, but us here in the States had to work. Boo!
*Lexie’s. Typo
So glad Lexie is done with her surgery and that she was such a trooper. She is such a cute sick girl. She totally has the, “feel sorry for me,” look goin’ for her. So sorry to hear you are sick as well. That stinks. I, too, always get sick just at the end of a huge catastrophe in my life. It’s like my body says, “You fought the good fight and now it’s time for a rest and I mean it mister…or I mean Miss”…but mister sounds more demanding. Take care…both of you.
I am so happy Lexie is doing well! I hope the results come back normal.
I didn’t see the wedding! I googled to find a picture of her dress, but still haven’t seen a good one.
I’m so happy to hear that Lexie is doing well and that she was such a trooper. You really do have an incredible dog there. Totally worth every penny, but I know I don’t need to tell you that. So sweet that you slept on the floor with her. Hope you feel better soon. Being sick and taking care of someone else is tough, I know. Take good care of yourself and Lexie! I watched the royal wedding, but was disappointed that I didn’t see royal food. Haha. Jk.
